How much does a plumber cost in Auckland?

Water & Gas Worx charges $155+GST for the first hour during standard hours (7.30am–5.00pm) and $100+GST for each additional hour, billed in 15-minute increments at $25. After-hours and weekend work is $295+GST for the first hour. Public holidays are $395+GST for the first hour. All quotes are confirmed before work begins, with no hidden fees.

Do you charge a separate callout fee?

No. The minimum charge is the door rate — it covers travel time, vehicle, fuel, admin, and the first hour on site. There is no separate callout fee on top.

Are your prices GST-inclusive?

All advertised rates are excluding GST. GST of 15% is added to the final invoice in line with New Zealand tax law.

How much does a gas certificate cost?

Low Risk / General gas certificates are $55+GST. High Risk certificates are $95+GST. Gas certification is mandatory for gas work in New Zealand under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006, and we keep records for the legally required seven years.

How much does it cost to unblock a drain?

Drain unblocking equipment is charged in addition to standard hourly labour. Flexshaft (up to 65mm) is $65+GST, drain snake (up to 100mm) is $245+GST, and hydrojet (up to 150mm) is $295+GST. Most simple blockages are cleared within the first hour on site.

Do you provide quotes before starting work?

Yes. Every job is confirmed in writing before work begins. For straightforward jobs we quote on the phone, and for larger work we visit on site to scope first. Pricing is fixed once accepted — no surprises on the invoice.
