A renovation is only as good as the plumbing behind the walls. You can have the most beautiful tiles and the flashest vanity in Auckland, but if the pipework is not right, you are going to have problems. Bathroom Renovation Plumbing

Bathroom renovations are where we do a lot of our work. Whether you are updating a tired 1990s ensuite or doing a full gut-and-rebuild on a family bathroom, the plumbing scope typically includes:

• Strip-out and capping: Removing old fixtures, disconnecting water and waste lines, and capping everything off safely before the builders and tilers get started.
• Pipe relocation: Moving water supply and waste pipes to suit your new layout. Want the shower on the opposite wall? The toilet in a different position? We sort the pipework to make it happen.
• Hot and cold rough-in: Installing new water supply lines to the correct positions for your shower mixer, basin taps, bath filler, and any other fixtures. Getting the rough-in heights and spacings right is critical — mistakes at this stage are expensive to fix once the tiles are on.
• Waste and drainage: Running new waste lines for the shower, basin, bath, and toilet. Ensuring correct fall on all pipes so everything drains properly.
• Fixture installation: Once the room is tiled and finished, we come back to install and connect all your fixtures — shower, vanity, toilet, towel rails, and anything else.

Kitchen Renovation Plumbing

Kitchen renovations often involve more than just swapping out a sink. A new kitchen layout might mean relocating water supply, waste, and gas lines. Here is what we typically handle:

• Sink and dishwasher plumbing: Installing hot and cold supply lines, waste connections, and dishwasher hose connections in the right positions for your new cabinetry layout.
• Gas cooktop installation: If you are putting in a gas hob or upgrading from electric to gas, we run the gas pipe, fit the bayonet connection, and install the cooktop. All gas work comes with a Gas Safety Certificate.
• Rangehood extraction: While not strictly plumbing, we often get asked to help with rangehood ducting during a kitchen reno.
• Water filter tap: Many homeowners are adding a dedicated filtered water tap during their kitchen renovation. We install the tap and the under-bench filtration unit.
• Fridge plumbing: If your new fridge has an ice maker or water dispenser, we run a water supply line to the fridge location.

Working With Your Builder and Other Trades

Renovations involve multiple trades, and timing matters. The plumber needs to be on site at the right stages — before the walls go up for rough-in, and again after tiling for fixture fit-off. We have been doing this long enough to know the drill, and we coordinate with your builder, tiler, electrician, and anyone else involved to make sure the job runs smoothly.

If you do not have a builder and you are managing the renovation yourself, we can advise on the order of trades and what needs to happen when. Getting the sequence wrong is one of the most common reasons renovations blow out on time and budget.

Building Consent and Compliance

In Auckland, some renovation plumbing work requires a building consent — particularly if you are adding new fixtures, changing the drainage layout, or altering the building structure. Auckland Council requires that all plumbing and drainage work on a consent is carried out by a licensed plumber and signed off with a Record of Work.

We handle all the plumbing-related aspects of the consent process, including providing specifications for the consent application and completing the required documentation for sign-off. If gas work is involved, we issue the appropriate Gas Safety Certificates as well.
