Cracked, collapsed, or broken drain pipes? We find the problem with CCTV, dig it up, and fix it properly. No shortcuts, no band-aid repairs.

Every drain repair starts with a CCTV inspection. We put a camera down the pipe to see exactly what's going on — where the damage is, how bad it is, and what's causing it. You see the footage on screen so there's no guesswork.
For collapsed pipes, heavily cracked sections, and severe root damage, we dig down to the pipe, cut out the damaged section, and replace it with new PVC. We bed the new pipe properly, compact the trench, and reinstate the surface. This is the most common repair method and it's permanent.
For localised damage — a single crack, one bad joint, or a short section of root damage — we can sometimes do a spot repair without digging up the full line. We excavate just the damaged area, cut out the bad section, and splice in new pipe.
When the whole drain line is shot — multiple cracks, bellies, root intrusion throughout — replacing the lot is often cheaper than doing patch after patch. We replace old clay and concrete with modern PVC pipe that will last decades and doesn't have the joint issues that let roots in.
We replace with PVC drainage pipe — it's the modern standard for a reason. It doesn't crack like clay, doesn't erode like concrete, and the solvent-welded joints are root-proof. For sewer mains and larger diameter pipes, we use the appropriate grade and class for the application.
It depends on the depth, length, and location of the damaged pipe. A shallow patch repair in an accessible area is a lot less than replacing a deep sewer line under a driveway. We inspect with CCTV first and give you a clear price before any digging starts.
CCTV drain camera. We push a camera through the pipe and it shows us exactly what's going on — cracks, collapses, root intrusion, offset joints, bellies. The camera has a locator so we can mark where the damage is on the surface above, which means we only dig where we need to.
For collapsed pipes, severe root damage, or pipes with multiple issues, excavation and replacement is usually the most effective and cost-efficient solution. In some cases, minor cracks in accessible pipes can be patched without full excavation. We'll recommend the right approach based on what the camera shows.
For private drain repairs on your property, you generally don't need building consent in Auckland — it falls under exempt building work. If the work involves connecting to the public sewer main or altering the drainage layout, that's different. We'll let you know if any consents are needed before we start.
A straightforward patch repair can be done in half a day. A full pipe replacement — digging, laying new pipe, backfilling, and reinstating — is usually a one to two day job depending on depth and access. We'll give you a timeframe when we quote the work.
